A first for the German PIWI Wine Award
from the DLG Annual Report 2025
Sustainable viticulture requires innovation – and is now taking centre stage: the German PIWI Wine Prize was awarded for the first time in 2025. The DLG and PIWI Deutschland e.V. are using this award to recognise wines, semi-sparkling and sparkling wines made from fungus-resistant grape varieties, and to highlight their potential. The aim is to highlight quality, strengthen the competitiveness of wine-growing businesses and promote the sales of high-quality PIWI wines.
