The PIWI World Summit in Berlin is the world's largest platform for the exchange of information on fungus-resistant grape varieties (PIWIs). For two days, PIWI winegrowers, breeders, researchers, vine nurseries and wine lovers from all over the world come together to share knowledge, experiences and perspectives. The focus is on top-class wine tastings, specialist lectures, discussion panels and masterclasses - a comprehensive programme that demonstrates the diversity and sensory potential of PIWIs. The highlight is the PIWI Wine Salon, where over 30 winemakers present their PIWI wines to the Berlin public.

Programme focus of the summit

1 PIWIs as the wines of the future
How are PIWIs shaping the future of viticulture? Sustainability, climate resilience, trends in different countries - this focus area sheds light on the opportunities and challenges of modern PIWI strategies in an international context.

2. PIWIs in cultivation
Breeding, resistance, regional differences: experts report on current developments in cultivation and provide insights into new varieties, practical experience and scientific findings.

3. PIWIs in the basement
How do PIWIs differ in terms of vinification? From tannin management and sulphur reduction to shelf life - this section is dedicated to oenological questions and innovative processes in the cellar.

4. PIWIs in a jar
What can we expect in terms of flavour? Tastings, moderated by renowned sommeliers and wine academics, provide an insight into flavour, style and market potential. Winegrowers from all regional associations will present their best PIWI wines in the salon and the Berlin public is cordially invited to attend.

The 🍷 PIWI Wine Salon takes place on Sunday afternoon from 13:00.
We cordially invite all interested parties to attend. Tickets are available online and directly at the entrance.

Registration PIWI WORLD Summit 2025 for PIWI members

For PIWI members: Participation in the Summit is free of charge. For the masterclasses, however, a separate, fee-based registration is required via the Online ticket system required.

For visitors (non-members): Tickets for the PIWI World Summit and the PIWI Wine Salon can also be purchased directly from the Online ticket system can be booked.
