The PIWI International Wine Challenge is much more than a competition - it is a stage for the future of wine. PIWI wines from all over the world compete here and impressively demonstrate the level of quality that these innovative grape varieties can achieve today.

The aim is to discover and honour the best PIWI wines and to make their appeal visible far beyond the professional world. At the same time, a unique international comparison is created that allows the diversity of origin, the signature of the winemakers and the special features of the regions to be experienced through the senses.

The Wine Challenge offers winegrowers the opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage, to network and to be part of a dynamic, forward-looking movement - a movement that is having a lasting impact on viticulture.

Organiser and introduction to the competition

The competition is organised by the Národní vinařské centrum, o.p.s. (National Wine Centre), Sobotní 1029, 691 42 Valtice, Czech Republic, in cooperation with the umbrella organisation PIWI International.

The competition complies with the national standards of wine competitions in the Czech Republic and is being held for the third time by the National Wine Centre in Valtice in cooperation with PIWI International.

Date of the tasting

The tasting will take place on 29 June 2026 at the National Wine Centre in Valtice.
The award and certificate ceremony will take place this year on 29 July in Trento and will be organised together with PIWI Italia in the Renaissance palace Palazzo Roccabruna in the city centre of Trento.
