International PIWI Symposium 24 & 25 March 2026

This year, the PIWI Symposium is once again dedicated to the growing importance of fungus-resistant grape varieties (PIWIs) and will highlight key topics along the entire viticulture value chain over two days. The focus will be on current developments in the breeding of resistant varieties and the associated strategies in plant protection and viticulture - such as mildew, black rot and the use of forecasting tools. The selection of PIWI grape varieties from an oenological perspective, tannin and colour management and quality-relevant adjustments in the cellar will also be discussed. The programme is complemented by aspects of marketing and sustainable packaging concepts.
