The PIWI-CH association
With the establishment of the PIWI-CH national association, we aim to find swift ways to promote the cultivation of PIWI vines in Switzerland. To this end, we are channelling our resources into the exchange of experience, research, consultancy, fostering political will, and opening up the variety lists regulated at cantonal level. Winemaking requires a particularly delicate touch when it comes to new varieties. Positive examples win over the market and should not shy away from comparisons with traditional wines. To this end, we organise tasting sessions with wine stands at trade fairs, Wine+Dines at trendy restaurants, practical workshops for knowledge-sharing, wine tours and training courses, as well as an annual general meeting. Through our ‘PIWI-WeinZeit’ newsletter, we update our members once a year on current topics relating to PIWI both at home and abroad.
