Lange Winery - Saaleck Castle
Germany - Franconia

Winery description:

Our Schloss Saaleck winery was first mentioned in a document in 1298. Hammelburg is the oldest wine town in Franconia!
Today our vines are cultivated organically on over 18 hectares in historically very important locations. In the single site Saalecker Schlossberg, the vineyards are surrounded by a large, listed vineyard wall. Our vines feel particularly comfortable in this microclimate. Our entire winery has been BIO-certified since the beginning of 2013. We work sustainably in harmony with nature according to NATURLAND guidelines.
For us, quality comes before quantity. This is one of the reasons why most of the work in our vineyard is not done mechanically but by hand.
In our vinotheque directly on the market square you can taste and buy wines in a cozy atmosphere. In our Schoppenstüble in the vinotheque you can bring your snack and drink our wines with it. Ulrike Lange is a wine tour guide. We hold wine tastings and wine adventure hikes all year round. The highlight of the calendar of events is the spring wine bar with wine festival in the middle of the vineyards, or the candlelit wine tastings in the historic cavalier's house.
We are a determined and innovative family winery
with a high level of quality awareness.
"The quality comes from the vineyard and is perfected in the cellar" quote from winemaker Thomas Lange
Our wines are awarded annually at national and international wine competitions.
